Stephen Wonderlich: Professor, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences, U.S.A. He is internationally a well-known clinician and scientist in the field of eating disorder.
This presentation/workshop will focus on three different aspects of evidence based treatments for eating disorders.
The first portion of the presentation will focus on some of the philosophical and practical complexities of the implementation of evidence based treatments for eating disorders.
The second portion of the presentation will provide an overview of a new evidence based treatment for binge eating behavior entitled “Integrative Cognitive-Affective Therapy”. An overview of the fundamental principles of this intervention and preliminary findings regarding its efficacy will be discussed.
The third portion of the presentation will focus on the treatment of individuals with severe and enduring eating disorders with an emphasis on clarifying the definition of these conditions and also the range of treatment options for patients with long standing eating disorders.
